The Practical Plus Tanto (SH2259) matches our Practical Plus Katana (SH2073) and Wakizashi (SH2118). The blade is hand-forged high-carbon steel and differentially hardened using a traditional claying method (HRC 60 edge, HRC 40 spine) with a medium (chu) kissaki.

The Practical Special is a subtly modified version of the Practical Katana, made in response to requests for a quicker sword at the same economy price. The blade dimensions have been changed only slightly and the tsuba cutouts have been enlarged, and though this has resulted in a weight loss of only 3 oz

The Practical Plus Katana provides a very economical cutting sword as dependable as the Practical Katana (SH1070), but using more traditional fittings and construction methods. The blade is forged and differentially hardened in the traditional claying method with a prominent hamon.

Made as a companion piece for our Practical Plus Katana (SH2073) and Tanto (SH2259), the Wakizashi features an edge-tempered high carbon forged steel blade with a prominent hamon, genuine Same (Rayskin) on the Tsuka, and a handle wrap (Tsuka-Ito) specially developed for its gripping qualities.

The Practical Pro Katana is built as an economical cutting sword for heavy targets, with an extended tsuka and a thicker and longer blade. The blades are constructed from hand-forged, high-carbon steel and are differentially hardened using a traditional claying method.

The Practical Pro Elite Katana has an extended tsuka and a thicker and longer (29”) Performance Series blade with a finer polish when compared to others in the Practical series. The blade is forged in high-carbon steel and differentially hardened using the traditional claying method.
